The Via Francigena
Gambassi Terme is an official stop on the ancient pilgrim route from Canterbury to Rome. The stage on to San Gimignano is about 13 km (3–4 hours) through hills, vineyards and woods, passing the 11th-century Pieve di Santa Maria a Chianni — and you can soak at the Terme della Via Francigena along the way.
